The Footprint of a Roman Toddler Has Been Preserved on this Tile for 2000 Years

It’s small things like this that humanize the past and remind us that we are all connected

How fascinating is this! Just like today, a curious toddler saw a fresh red clay tile and had to put his foot in it. This tile is ~2,000 years old and was found in present day Vaison-la-Romaine, a small town in southeastern France.

It’s small (literally) things like this that really humanize the past and remind us that we are all connected 🙂
